MacKenzie Jacobs will graduate from West Liberty University on May 9th, 2020 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in chemistry with a minor in biology. MacKenzie has worked on three
different research projects using advanced microbiology and biochemistry techniques. At West
Liberty University, she works to identify the bioactive compound in Whitebark Pine extract that
reduces infection of Francisella tularensis. MacKenzie is interested in the Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology Program, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Program, and the Molecular
Plant Science Dual Major within the BMS Gateway Program at Michigan State University.
