Saamera Awali

Saamera Awali graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Leadership. Saamera’s undergraduate research projects focused on elucidating the effects of atrazine, a commonly used herbicide in the U.S., on crayfish chemoreception and metabolism. Saamera is interested in the Pharmacology and Toxicology program through the BMS Gateway Program at MSU to pursue a PhD in toxicology research. Saamera would like to continue studying toxicology in the Rockwell, Tewari-Singh, Veiga-Lopez, and Strakovsky labs.
