Henry Ford Health + Michigan State University Health Sciences

Our partnership is a catalyst for change, reimagining how we think about, innovate, and deliver health and wellness. Our goal is to set a new standard for how individuals and communities experience care across the state of Michigan and the nation. For more than a century, Henry Ford has embodied clinical research expertise, introducing the newest therapies for patients. MSU, an academic powerhouse for more than 150 years, has renowned strength in basic research. Together, we are bringing medical discoveries from bench to bedside.

To further embrace collaboration between the two institutions, we are working diligently to create robust systems and support mechanisms for MSU graduate students to engage with Henry Ford researchers. Beginning Summer 2025, MSU graduate students matriculating through BMS will have the opportunity to rotate in and join a Henry Ford lab to complete their thesis research. Students who choose to do so remain employees of MSU. Henry Ford labs, with strength in cancer therapeutics, public health, neuroscience, orthopedics, cardiometabolic health, immunology, and more, will likely be of interest to students excited by translational and bench-to-bedside research. See the researcher directory to learn more about Henry Ford scientist.

Please reach out to Lucas Huffman (lhuffma3@hfhs.org) and Jake Wier (wierjake@msu.edu) with any questions regarding research at Henry Ford.
